Three New Directors Elected at Annual Meeting

At the 2016 KICA Annual Meeting in March, three candidates were elected to the Board of Directors – Rajan Govindan, Lynn Morgenstern and Dave Singer.

Rajan, a Kiawah property owner since2003, has a background in the asset management industry and served on the KICA Finance Committee for six years.

Lynn has extensive professional experience in the legal industry and has volunteered with a variety KICA, Town of Kiawah Island and Kiawah Conservancy committees, as well as numerous island community groups.

Dave has worked as a business executive with major corporations such as Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and Synders-Lance, Inc.

The three newly elected board members officially began their terms at the board meeting on March 11.

“Board service is vital to the continued growth and stability of our island,” said KICA Chief Operating Officer Jimmy Bailey. “KICA would like to thank the six candidates for their willingness to serve the community,”

Bailey also praised the three outgoing directors – Larry Kreyling, Will Lehder and outgoing chair Dave Schoenholz – for their time on the board.

“They came onto the board during a very difficult time,” said Bailey. “They gave up countless hours to board service, and every decision they made was in the best interest of Kiawah. They left the island in better shape than they found it.”

Following the Annual Meeting, a brief board meeting was held where the following board officer appointments were made:

Chair – Bruce Stemerman
Vice-Chair – Marilyn Olson
Treasurer – Rajan Govindan
Secretary – Carrie Newbern (KICA Staff)
