Personnel Updates for Directors of Operations, Livability

KICA’s COO Shannon White announced on Monday that former director of Security Tony Elder has been promoted to the director of Operations position. Tony has been with KICA since May 2016 after a distinguished career in law enforcement. Prior to his retirement from law enforcement, Tony held the position of deputy chief, a position with striking similarities to KICA’s director of Operations position. Tony has become a valuable member of our leadership team, building strong relationships throughout our staff and the Kiawah community. In her announcement, Shannon noted, “as the one who has held this position for the last 11 years, I have every confidence that Tony will do an excellent job in his new role.”

Tony is a familiar face to many members, but those who don’t know him can read more in this profile from 2017.

In other personnel news, KICA’s director of Livability Ed Monahan returned yesterday from an extended medical leave. Ed returns to a multi-faceted role assisting KICA members and island contractors, taking the reins back from assistant director of Security, Kelly Kraus. We would like to thank Kelly for stepping into this role for the community. Many members are already aware that Livability is their go-to for Comcast service issues, encroachment permits and covenant compliance.
