KICA and the Town Partner to Review the Relationship with the Architectural Review Board

Driven by property owner concerns about the cost, consistency, and transparency of the practices of the developer-controlled Architectural Review Board (ARB), the Town of Kiawah Island (TOKI) and KICA partnered in March to create a task force (charter) to examine these issues, as well as to make recommendations with regard to longer term structural and legal issues pertaining to architectural review on Kiawah Island.

The group held an organizational meeting in April, and has begun to assemble background information and analyze the existing touchpoints between the community and the ARB. In the coming months, it is anticipated that the group will hold public meetings to gather additional information from the community and report its observations and recommendations.

Task Force Members: Kevin Donlon (KICA board representative), David DeStefano (KICA board representative), Beverly Bunting and Madeleine Kaye.
