Tidal Flooding Possible With King Tides Friday & Saturday
King tides, defined as the highest seasonal tides, are predicted for Nov. 4-8. However the highest tides to affect Kiawah are expected Friday at 9 a.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. KICA’s resilience specialist Lucas Hernandez reported that “Both of the higher tides for those days are predicted to be above 7.5 ft., but we also have a pretty big cold front coming in that will bring winds from the north. This usually causes tides to swell well above predicted values.”
Please use caution when driving on these days, especially during the peak of high tide. Never drive through standing water. KICA’s Security team will be monitoring for potential roadway flooding.
