The Sandcastle’s Oceanview Pool to Be Adults-Only for the Spring 2021 Season

Last week, the KICA board voted to allow adults only (ages 21+) at The Sandcastle’s Oceanview Pool in the off-season months this spring when the pool is heated. The pool is planned to be heated beginning on Monday. This pool is also reserved for adults only in the summer-season when the bar is open.

Last summer, heating equipment was installed in the Oceanview Pool, generating a new conversation about off-season use. The board promised a decision for the spring 2021 swimming season, and meanwhile is considering the cost implications of installing heating equipment and ongoing heating costs for The Sandcastle’s Family Pool, which is currently unheated and open for use by all members.
