Indulge in Thanksgiving Events Around the Island

Thanksgiving is the best time for indulging and we don’t just mean that extra slice of pie! Leave room in your schedule for these great holiday events around the island

Resort Events Around the Island

The Kiawah Island Golf Resort always has great events for the holidays for their guests and members to attend. Start your Thanksgiving off right, with the annual Turkey Trot at 9:30 a.m. at the Sanctuary beach access. After dinner, stop by the park for some fall fun at the Thanksgiving Festival! From 5-7:30 p.m., enjoy live music, inflatables, and southern lawn games at Night Heron Park. These events are complimentary and no reservations are required.

Holiday Decorating Starts Around the Island

Ready the elves: winter holiday (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.) decorations can be displayed from Thanksgiving Day to Jan. 15. KICA’s Rules and Regulations document spells out the basics of all decorating that’s permissible on the island in Section 11, item H 4.

Keep the Celebration Going at Freshfields Village

Kick off the festive season at Freshfields from Friday, Nov. 24 to Sunday, Nov. 26 as they welcome Santa to the Village Green! In addition to photos at Santa’s Surf Shack, guests can enjoy live music, strolling carolers, and interactive performers each day throughout the weekend.

Kiawah River Home for the Holidays Market and Tour

Head just down the road to Kiawah River on Friday, November 24, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a holiday market and community tour. Jump aboard a trolley for a tour of Kiawah River, featuring our riverside pool amenity, The Spring House, and a sneak peek inside one of our Bungalows, with breathtaking views. Between tours, sip and stroll through our holiday market featuring local farmers, artists and craftsmen. Fresh produce from local farmers and artisanal food products will also be available. Tasty bites will be served by local food trucks, set to live music by Calhoun’s Calling.

POPs Tree Lighting Mix and Mingle
