Kiawah Residents Maintain Exclusive Benefits in Comcast Service Agreement
In 2014, KICA and Comcast established a right-of-access agreement, which allows Comcast to access KICA’s rights of way on the island for a variety of service needs. When this agreement was made, KICA required some additional benefits on behalf of members, such as a minimum Xfinity service standard and a local dedicated team to respond to service requests. This tradeoff means that our membership has exclusive access to a higher standard of service than other Comcast users.
This unique agreement enables members to skip the frustration of calling Xfinity’s national service number and instead, call a local number to get VIP service support. Call KICA’s own director of Livability Ed Monahan at 843-708-3611 or email [email protected] and he will liaison with Comcast support for you to get your request prioritized. You can also call Xfinity’s Kiawah Island VIP service concierge Tammy Peak at 843-312-2604. She is on the island frequently during weekday business hours and she can usually address your issue the same day.
Unless you have a billing question (Ed and Tammy can only help with service issues), don’t call the general Xfinity service line ever again! Ed and Tammy will work with you to ensure your service issues are addressed promptly and save you the trouble.
While there is no requirement to purchase service from a specific company, Comcast/Xfinity is the only telecom provider contractually-obligated to meet KICA’s standards.
