Annual Pine Straw Refresh Underway on the Island in April

The KICA Land Management is hard at work preparing beds for the annual pine straw application around the island, which begins Monday, April 22. An association contractor will be spreading new pine straw along main road easements to prevent weed intrusion. 

Work begins along the Kiawah Island Parkway, where it continues through early next week. After the parkway is complete, the team will move to Governors Drive. This project will take place through the end of April. 

Crews will be working very close to the edges of roads, and brief traffic delays are possible, so please use caution when driving in work areas.
