Oyster Reef Installation

The Conservancy, Kiawah Island Golf Resort, and South Carolina Department of Natural Resources’ Oyster Restoration Program (SCORE) have built manufactured wire reefs (MWR) for a marsh restoration project at Mingo Point. We are excited to announce that with the help of our combined staff and many wonderful volunteers, we met our goal to build 130 MWRs! A big thank you to all involved!

On Thursday, August 1 at 10 am, volunteers will meet at Mingo Point (876 Kiawah Island Parkway) to complete the final step of this project – installation and deployment of the MWRs into the marsh.
