Earth Week Learning with Lee

Join Kiawah Conservancy’s Sr. Ecological Health and Conservation Coordinator, Lee Bundrick, at Betsy Kerrison Nature Park for a walk among the maritime forest, saltmarsh, and hummock island habitats on Johns Island.

Lee will be discussing recent land preservation efforts along Betsy Kerrison Parkway, the significance of protecting natural habitats with the Kiawah River Watershed, and the natural habitats on the recently protected properties.

This 2-hour walk will begin at 4368 Betsy Kerrison Parkway (the site of the former Rosebank Farmstand). It will continue with a trek through the undeveloped forest and saltmarshes to access the hummock islands. The properties on this walk do not have cleared walking trails or boardwalks and will be partially in the marsh, therefore, it is highly recommended to wear mud boots.
