Saltmarsh Exploration

Join the Kiawah Conservancy and Kiawah Island Nature Program Naturalists on a saltmarsh exploration in the Kiawah River. As the tide falls, we will venture by kayak towards the Kiawah River Bridge to an area we call the Mud Flats. Here, we may see numerous shorebirds feeding or the occasional Bottlenose Dolphin swim by.
No experience is needed. Moderate physical ability required. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A brief hands-on introduction to kayaking will be given at the beginning of the program. All equipment will be provided. Be prepared to get wet! Wear snug fitting shoes that you don’t mind getting wet and muddy and bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and protective covers for your electronic devices.
