Welcome to your
Kiawah Island community.

To activate your membership and get gate and amenity access, please complete the following steps below. A few minutes of your time will set you up for success for years to come.

Step 1

Activate Your KICA Membership

Please provide some basic contact information to activate your membership.

Once your account is active, you will receive login information for the community association’s member portal where you can manage your preferences. You will also be able to request association services, report issues and make payments.

Step 2

Get Kiawah Gate Access

The community association manages gate access. Members receive permanent vehicle decals and member-guests receive temporary passes.

Member Access

If you need immediate gate access, contact Member Services to get a temporary pass. To receive permanent decals for your member vehicles, please provide each vehicle’s license plate number and photos of your registration cards.

Once your member account is activated, we will email you login information for the gate pass portal where you can manage gate pass requests for your family and friends. You can also contact the Main Gate Security team to make these member-guest pass requests.

Get Amenity Access

The Sandcastle is the community’s beachfront clubhouse. Amenities are available to association members and their guests.

Visit the Sandcastle (1 Shipwatch Road) to receive your member amenity card and tour the pools, fitness studio, event and meeting spaces and summertime grille and bar. You will use your amenity card to check-in for all amenities and events.

Family and friends of members are welcome at the Sandcastle, with some restrictions. Once you have your member amenity card, you may bring guests with you or pre-authorize your guests to visit without you.

Internet/TV/Phone

Various companies provide these services. The largest cable/internet provider is Comcast: Xfinity. Comcast has a service agreement with KICA, which requires higher customer service standards and a local VIP customer service representative. The largest cell phone service provider is AT&T.

All Emergencies: Call 911

For any emergency, call 911. Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch will coordinate a police, fire or medical response. Submit emergency or non-emergency information at 911helpme.com without making a call.

Charleston County Sheriff's Office

Led by an elected sheriff, CCSO deputies patrol Kiawah Island and enforce state law, as well as town ordinances. Learn more.

St. John's Fire District

With two stations on Kiawah Island, SJFD responds to fire emergencies, as well as incidents with basic life support needs. The district aids the community with smoke alarm installations, home safety surveys, car seat safety checks and other services. Learn more.

KICA Security Services

Available 24/7, KICA’s Security Department controls access to the island via the Main Gate and conducts patrols of roadways and common properties. The Security Department will also respond to island emergencies, as a resource for members. Contact the Security team by phone or email.

Town of Kiawah Island Public Safety and Code Enforcement

Town staff enforces all municipal ordinances and is empowered to issue court summon for their violations. They also act as Public Safety Officers and work in cooperation with all island agencies, including fire, police, solid waste, and beach services. Learn more.
