Top Kiawah News from 2024
In 2024, you, our association members, were anxious about Tropical Storm Helene’s impact and intently watched a live view of Kiawah’s beach, you followed the litigation surrounding the land at Captain Sam’s Spit (February 2024 potential highland sale; July 2024 KICA lowlands lawsuit update); and you engaged with wider community conversations about Johns Island roads (May 2024 Main Road Corridor Segment C meeting; Sept 2024 Segment C concerns prompt reconsideration).
You refreshed your memory on what to leave at home and what to bring to the Sandcastle pool. You were interested in KICA’s ongoing efforts to maintain roads and the 15 that were repaved in the fall of 2024. You were alarmed to learn alligator feeding is a problem, and how to be a part of the solution. As a gracious host, you made sure you knew how to get your guests through the gate with ease. And finally, you were satisfied to hear KICA expanded Security patrol to include bicycle patrol, where rules (like the e-bike prohibition) are enforced and officers provide education on trail etiquette.
