Last year, the Kiawah Island Community Association’s (KICA) Board of Directors approved the installation of heating equipment at the Oceanview Pool, and for the first time, The Sandcastle offered a heated pool, extending the swimming season several months into the fall and now spring.
At the May 3 board meeting, the board voted unanimously to install heating equipment at the Family Pool, adding a second heated pool amenity at The Sandcastle. Construction will begin after Labor Day. The total project will cost approximately $144,500, with estimated ongoing heating costs of about $4,500-$5,000 per month.
