Secure Extended Member Access for Sandcastle Gym Returns

This spring, nearly 2,000 members completed a pulse poll from The Sandcastle User Group regarding various access policies for KICA’s community clubhouse. In that poll, 57% of respondents indicated they were interested in bringing back extended access to The Sandcastle’s gym, which was discontinued in 2020 due to COVID-19 precautions.

KICA is now rolling out an updated version of extended access with new, more secure technology. The new process means you can use an app on your smartphone to securely access The Sandcastle gym, restrooms and lending library from 5-7 a.m. and 8-10 p.m. During the upcoming off-season (Nov. 7 through Feb. 28) when your community clubhouse is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., evening extended access will be available from 6-10 p.m.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT EXTENDED ACCESS

• Access is for members only; guests or lineals are not permitted.
• Access is reserved for the approved member only. Other individuals are not permitted to accompany the approved member during extended access hours.
• Access through the side service entrance is only available during the listed times; when The Sandcastle is open, members must access the facility through the main entrance.
• Members using the gym during evening extended hours must exit the premises by 11 p.m. when KICA Security will lock and alarm the facility.
