Roadwork to Extend Median at the Main Gate Starts March 23

Starting Wednesday, March 23, the median between the two inbound lanes at the Main Gate will be extended to the intersection of the Kiawah Island Parkway and Beachwalker Drive.

Installation of the median will be underway during daytime hours. This work will be visible but is not anticipated to disrupt traffic flow. To minimize disruptions, paving work will take place at night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Construction is anticipated to take about two weeks.

The speed limit at the Main Gate is already 10 mph, but members are asked to use additional caution when driving during construction.
