Put the Holly in Holly Jolly From Thanksgiving to Jan. 15

Ready the elves: winter holiday (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.) decorations can be displayed from Thanksgiving Day to Jan. 15. KICA’s Rules and Regulations document spells out the basics of all decorating that’s permissible on the island in Section 11, item H 4.

Keep these considerations in mind when choosing your décor:

• A 12-Hour Window – Decorations or displays that involve illuminating light or emit sound that carries must be turned off no later than 9 p.m. each evening, and turned on no earlier than 9 a.m.
• Limit Height – Inflatable decorations must not exceed 9 feet in height.
• Be Considerate – Holiday decorations or displays must not interfere with the quiet enjoyment of the residential homes within the surrounding area.
