Plan Your Outdoor Maintenance to Avoid Disturbing Bobkittens
The cutest time of the year is coming – bobcat denning season! The season runs April through June, and it’s the time when bobcats are birthing and raising their kittens. Because bobcat dens are typically located in areas you might be thinking of cleaning up or clearing out (like under a brush pile or in a hollow tree stump), we ask that members consider doing major vegetative maintenance before or after the season to avoid disturbing kittens. Minimal disturbance within and around natural areas is crucial to bobcat survival rates. For more information about our local bobcats, please visit the Town of Kiawah Island’s webpage.
