Modified Fitness at The Sandcastle

Modified Procedures for ALL Fitness Activities

Please Read:

The Kiawah Island Community Association currently requires reservations for all fitness activities. Log in up to 48 hours in advance to make reservations through CourtReserve. Members are asked to limit gym reservations to two per week per member, and fitness class reservations to three per week. Fitness reservations are currently for members only. Lineal members and guests are not able to make fitness reservations at this time. For all fitness activities, a face covering must be worn to enter and exit The Sandcastle, but may be removed while exercising. Please bring your own water bottle, towel, and/or mat, if applicable.

The gym at The Sandcastle reopened on Monday, Nov. 16 with advance reservations. Five one-hour sessions are available daily, for three members at a time. The sessions are at 7-8 a.m., 9-10 a.m., 11-12 p.m., 1-2 p.m., and 3-4 p.m. Restrooms are open but showers are unavailable. 

Available equipment includes 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 1 exercise bike, 1 recumbent bike, Nautilus rack, free weights,  and strength training equipment. Cardio equipment is spaced 10 feet apart and strength training equipment is spaced 6 feet apart. Disinfecting wipes will be available to wipe down the equipment.

UV lights have been installed in the HVAC system to kill bacteria. The gym and restroom will be cleaned in between sessions.

Personal Fitness Training

The Sandcastle is now accepting one-on-one personal training appointments with our certified fitness trainers. Resume your fitness routine with guided instruction in a controlled sanitary environment. Contact Sandcastle Member Services at [email protected] for rates and to schedule your session.

Fitness Classes

The Sandcastle launched outdoor fitness classes on Monday, Oct. 5 with advance reservations. Fitness classes are planned to move indoors on Monday, Nov. 30. The classes will take place in the upstairs ballroom, and water aerobics will move to the Sanctuary Hotel.
