October Security Report Reveals an Uptick in Vehicles and Violations

October is a beautiful month to be on Kiawah, and we’re not the only ones who think so. KICA’s Security team reports that 200,552 vehicles passed through the Main Gate during the month. That’s an average of nearly 6,500 vehicles per day. Just over 101,000 vehicles passed through Kiawah’s second gate.

The team issued 287 violations throughout the month, a slight uptick from September. Parking was the top category once again with 215 violations. About 75% of total violations in October were for parking. The other 25% were spread among the remaining categories, including 33 pass violations, 17 in the miscellaneous category, and 13 for biking or jogging on the the roadway.

Even in October, parking on the island doesn’t have to be scary! Learn more about what’s permitted and what’s not here.
