Motorized Vehicles, Like E-bikes, Are Banned From Kiawah Trails

Now that fall weather is here, it’s a great time to enjoy the leisure trails on the way to your next adventure.

Before you head out, take a look at your bike, scooter or skateboard. Did you know that use of the island’s leisure trails is limited to non-motorized use only? While motorized scooters, bikes and skateboards are more popular than ever, these items aren’t permitted on trails. See Section 3 of KICA’s Rules & Regulations for more information. Some, like e-bikes, aren’t permitted on the island at all.

Kiawah’s trails are a safe and scenic way to experience the island when you’re walking, jogging, running biking, skating, or skateboarding, but the paths are not intended for motorized conveyance. Help keep yourself and your neighbors safe by leaving those items at home.
