Meeting Notifications: Proposed Rezoning of The Adjacent Parcel to Freshfields Village

THIS INFORMATION WAS EMAILED BY THE TOWN OF KIAWAH ISLAND ON JUNE 1.

Riverstone Properties and Harris Teeter will host a Zoom presentation on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 4 p.m. to discuss the request to rezone the 21.62 acres adjacent to Freshfields Village (see map below) to allow for a new Harris Teeter Grocery Store and retail. More information and the Zoom link will be distributed to the community as soon as it is received from Riverstone Properties.

The Charleston County Planning Commission will hear the zoning map amendment (rezoning) request (see request below) on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 2 p.m; at the Charleston County Planning Commission Meeting held in Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, Lonnie Hamilton, III Public Services Building 4045 Bridge View Drive, North Charleston, SC. This meeting is open to the public.

Zoning and Land Development Regulations Ordinance Map Amendment Request:

  • ZREZ-05-22-00135: Request to rezone TMS 205-00-00-365 from the Low-Density Residential (R-4) Zoning District to Community Commercial (CC) Zoning District.

Members of the community may submit written public comments via email to [email protected] or by mail to the Zoning & Planning Department, 4045 Bridge View Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405. Written public comments must be received by noon on Friday, June 10, 2022, and will be distributed to the Planning Commission members in accordance with the Planning Commission’s Rules of Procedure.
