KICA Special Litigation Committee Provides Updates on the Captain Sam’s Lawsuit

In May, KICA, the town and conservancy filed suit against the current owners of Captain Sam’s Spit for failing to fulfill their contractual obligations to take measures to permanently protect the spit. On June 13, Kiawah Development Partners filed their response and a counterclaim.

Last week, the KICA Special Litigation Committee, composed of the board’s elected directors, voted to participate in a joint response, filed with the court on July 11. The committee provides relevant materials below for those wishing to follow the case and will continue to provide updates to the community, as appropriate.
