KICA By-Laws: Proposed Amendments Clarify that a Spouse of a Property Owner Trustee Can Serve as a Board Member

At the July 8 board meeting, board members discussed a gap, identified by a member, within the KICA By-laws, related to board director qualifications. If a Kiawah property is owned by a trust, the current by-laws require that a qualifying board member be specifically named as a trustee. It is the board’s belief that the spouse of the trustee should also be able to serve on the KICA board. The board has drafted changes to the KICA By-laws. It is the board’s intention to vote on this change to the by-laws at its September meeting (sign up to attend virtually).
