KICA Board Appoints Shannon White to COO Role

The Kiawah Island Community Association Board of Directors has named Shannon White as KICA’s new chief operating officer. Shannon has served the association and the community for 24 years, holding the role of director of operations for over a decade, and most recently as interim COO since May. “Shannon’s depth of experience, demonstrated leadership, and thorough understanding of this island and organization made her an unmatched choice for the role,” affirms board chair Dave Morley. “We are delighted to have her at the helm and are confident that she will guide the association forward with commitment and integrity.”

Shannon brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. In her previous role, she oversaw the Land and Lakes Management, Major Repairs & Replacements, General Maintenance, Security, Recreation and Livability departments. Throughout her time with KICA, she has developed strong relationships with leaders in the other Kiawah Island entities. Shannon holds three national designations in community management, including the prestigious Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM).

Dave Morley expects a smooth transition for the board, community and organization. “Shannon is committed to supporting the vision of the board and has already proven her keen ability to organize and execute directives. She has put in the hard work to gain the respect of her coworkers and colleagues, so we know the organization won’t miss a step, and we can continue the momentum of our important association initiatives.”

Members hoping to get to know Shannon a little more can expect the opportunity at an upcoming social hour at The Sandcastle. The details of this event will be shared in the coming weeks.
