Kiawah, KIGR’s Sanctuary and Charleston All Winners in 2024 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards

Some things never get old and, for us, celebrating the Lowcountry is one of those things! Luckily, Kiawah, the Sanctuary at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort and the City of Charleston never seem to run out of steam when it comes to bringing home the accolades. The 2024 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards are out now and there are some familiar places on the lists.
For the 12th year (and counting!), Charleston was named the Best City in US. It also came in at #22 in the 25 Best Cities in the World category. Readers cited Charleston’s walkability, history and food scene as reasons they can’t get enough of the city.
Kiawah came in at #9 in the 15 Best Islands in the Continental US category, and the Sanctuary came in at #3 in the Readers’ 10 Favorite Resorts in South Carolina category.
