Kiawah Island Community Association Bids a Fond Farewell to Tony Elder

The Kiawah Island Community Association bids a fond farewell to its director of Operations, Tony Elder, next week. Tony has accepted a new position and will work his last day with KICA on Friday, Sept. 6.

Tony has been with KICA since May 2016 after a distinguished career in law enforcement. Over five years as director of Security and three as director of Operations, Tony has been a valuable member of our leadership team, building strong relationships throughout the Kiawah community.

KICA COO Shannon White shared her congratulations, noting that Tony has commuted 40+ miles each way for his entire eight years with the association. In his new role, he’ll be just minutes from home. “I would just like to offer my thanks to Tony, for everything he has done for KICA, for our members and for me. He has made big contributions during his eight years and he will be missed.”

During the transition, Shannon will step back into overseeing the Operations departments (Land and Lakes Management, Security, Major Repairs and Replacements, and General Maintenance) on a temporary basis, until the role is filled. Recruitment will begin in September.
