Hurricane Milton

Updated Thursday, Oct. 10 at 9 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service Charleston, the outer bands of Hurricane Milton will impact our area early Thursday morning through Thursday night. The largest threats are coastal flooding and dangerous marine conditions.

Kiawah may experience coastal flooding, especially with the Thursday high tide at 2 p.m. The Friday high tide at 3 p.m. is also a concern. Please exercise caution when moving around the island near these times.

There is a high risk for deadly rip currents, high surf and beach erosion. Tropical storm force wind gusts from 30-40 mph are possible, but sustained winds are predicted at 20-30 mph. Rain is not anticipated for our area.
