Four Off-Season Boardwalk Repairs Replace Stairs With Ramps

One of KICA’s off-season goals was to make updates to some of the most frequently-used boardwalks, as identified in KICA’s 2021 member survey. Four boardwalks (12, 29, 33, and 35) with stairs have been converted to more-accessible ramps. These updates are underway and are anticipated to be completed in early 2022.

One of the most noticeable updates was Boardwalk 8B next to The Sandcastle, which is open again for member use. The boardwalk was raised and extended to reduce sand accumulation on the deck. With convenient member parking and a gentle ramp, this boardwalk is a member favorite.
