Election Countdown: One Month Until You Can Pledge to Run for the Board

Nationally, it seems like we’ve been in election season for a long time, but KICA’s annual directors election is just starting to pick up speed. Now is the time to think about whether you’d like to contribute your time and energy performing this service for the Kiawah community.

Members who would like to serve and run for election will submit their candidacy form between late October and early November. Board candidates will be advertised preceding the winter 2025 election. Voting is planned from mid-January through mid-February.

Things to do before you decide:

• Attend a board meeting – the next meeting is Monday, Oct. 7. You can attend online or in person.
• Get up to date on what the board is working on by reviewing board meeting minutes or the board meeting videos on KICA’s YouTube channel.
• Look out for the Board Service Info Session – this session is held annually in October.

In 2025, two three-year seats will be filled as treasurer Lisa Mascolo and director David DeStefano complete their terms. More information about the 2025 election and the candidacy process will be shared in the coming weeks.
