Date of Record Marks 2025 Voter Eligibility
Wednesday, Dec. 4 marks the Date of Record for the upcoming election of the board of directors and vote on five KICA Covenant amendments. You must have been a registered property owner in good standing by this date to vote in January.
For this process, staff pulls the database of primary contacts for each managing household, along with the number of votes each household receives. It will then be provided to KICA’s third-party vote processor, Vote-Now, in advance of the month-long election and vote.
Three of your fellow neighbors are running for election to fill two KICA board seats. The KICA board is also recommending five KICA Covenant amendments for consideration of the membership. On Jan. 13, each Kiawah Island property will receive one ballot from Vote-Now, provided to the primary contact of the managing household. Voting takes place online, or by phone unless you’ve requested a mailed ballot. Your property type (ex. unimproved lot or improved residence) will determine the number of votes you have.
