Arts, etc. Presents the Kiawah Island Art and House Tour
Have you ever wanted a peek inside your neighbor’s lovely home? Arts, etc.’s 19th annual Kiawah Island Art and House tour takes place on Friday, April 5 from 1-5 p.m. and offers visitors a rare glimpse into the art and architecture of five spectacular homes.
This year’s tour features five homes in different areas of the island. Each home reflects the homeowners’ tastes and lifestyle— for example, one home is large with lots of kid-friendly spaces, while another was built around the kitchen because the owner is a culinary school graduate.
Beyond the tour experience, the program is a fundraiser for Arts, etc.’s mission. Proceeds benefit the youth of Johns and Wadmalaw islands through visual and performing arts. This year’s program supports children through these important organizations:
• Chamber Music Charleston• Engaging Creative Minds
• College of Charleston
• The Gibbes Museum of Art
• Ballet Evolution
• The Halsey Institute
• PURE Theater Arts
Arts, etc. member Jinnie Chapel pinpointed the overall goal of the program, saying “If we can engage even a few kids a year and make them either want to participate in or support the arts at some point in their lives, we have succeeded.”
Tickets ($55) can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com (use the keyword “Kiawah”) or at the Kiawah Island Real Estate office at Freshfields Village. In addition, tickets will be available at Freshfields village the day of the tour. Tickets purchased in advance must be exchanged for a tour brochure at the Square in Freshfields Village on the day of the tour.
