Approved Sandcastle Access Changes to Take Effect in April

The access changes approved by the board in February (see the overview) will go into effect on Monday, April 10, and the Sandcastle User Group will evaluate all the comments that have been received by members, as noted by board Chair Jerry McGee in his message to the community.

Prior to the changes going into effect, The Sandcastle will implement its most important verification requirement for all check-ins. Everyone must check in with their Sandcastle ID or a photo ID beginning Monday, March 27.

Beginning April 10, the new policies will go into effect. While KICA members continue to have access to all member amenities, members with adult children or extended families may wish to review the overview in advance. The most in-demand amenities, such as the Oceanview Adult Pool and the fitness facilities, will have some limitations. View an easy-reference chart of how access will work here.

 

IMPORTANT DATES

• Monday, March 27 – IDs required for check-in
• Monday, April 10 – New access policies in place
• Thursday, May 25 – Seasonal policies in place

 

The user group has been asked to continue its review of both member comments and the implementation as part of its mission to determine the most equitable ways to reduce overcrowding at The Sandcastle. This iterative approach means that future recommendations based on implementation may be sent to board as needed by the user group. Send your comments for review here.
