Annual Pruning Protects Line of Sight on Main Island Thoroughfares

On Monday, Jan. 20, annual right-of-way pruning will begin on the Kiawah Island Parkway from the Main Gate to the V-Gate. Work will include pruning trees in the inbound and outbound rights-of-way for height clearance, along with routine palm tree pruning. Upon completion of the parkway, crews will move to Governors Drive from the V-Gate to 1st Flyway. This project will require intermittent closures on the island’s main thoroughfares.

During this time flaggers will be in place to direct traffic. Members may experience delays in the area as crews work starting at 9 a.m. each day. Please drive with caution and allow additional time for travel. This work is expected to take one month to complete.
