A Message from Your Board of Directors
Kiawah is a special place for many people – full- and part-time home owners, regular visitors, first timers – and it’s a special place for the many different species of animals that inhabit Kiawah. In the context of all the beauty that surrounds us, the members of the Kiawah Island Community Association (KICA) Board of Directors are well aware of the livability and environmental concerns that many of our members have with respect to current and potential island development. We are concerned members ourselves.
We understand the time-sensitive nature of these issues. The board is actively engaged in understanding how to address the community’s concerns.
As we work to determine what actions the board can and should take, given KICA’s mission and operational mandate, we also encourage all members to take time to learn about proposed and active development. We invite you to express your views to the Town of Kiawah Island, to Charleston County and to us. Development resources and contact information are provided below.
