SCPA owns and operates, on behalf of the State of South Carolina,  one of the largest port systems in the U.S. SCPS handles in excess of $75B of international commerce annually; and generates ~$63B of annual economic activity. SCPA is one of the Top 10 port systems in the United States. Barbara Melvin became the President and CEO of SCPA in July of 2022. She is the first women to lead a Top 10 port operation in the U.S.
