Our World – County Councilman Kylon Middleton

Thursday, Feb 25, 2021 @ 3:00 pm

Kiawah’s Our World Lecture Series will continue its Spring programs on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. with a Zoom session featuring Reverend Kylon Middleton, newly-elected representative to the Charleston County Council.

A recognized and respected leader of the African American community and a thoughtful commentator on a broad range of community issues of importance to all local residents, Rev. Middleton was elected to the County Council in November and has already made a name for himself as a change agent. In addition to his role on the County Council, he is the pastor of the historic Mount Zion AME Church in downtown Charleston.

The Post and Courier recently named Rev. Middleton one of the most important leaders in Charleston and featured him in a February 14th Black History Month profile (may require a subscription to access).

Reflecting the changing needs and interests in the current pandemic, the OUR WORLD Zoom schedule is focusing on local events, issues and leaders of particular importance to the Kiawah “neighborhood.” Don’t miss hearing from Rev. Middleton who is a pivotal player in many of the decisions about key issues affecting our island.
