Back and better than ever, the Our World lecture series is kicking off their season with “Cybercrime, Identity Theft and Scams” featuring Frank Abagnale.
From fugitive to crime fighter, Frank Abagnale is one of the country’s best known scam artists. His story, told in the movie Catch Me if You Can, is only part of his journey, Since his time in prison, he has been a top consultant to the FBI on white-collar fraud and is a frequent lecturer and trainer to agents, national businesses, and financial groups.
He’s written five books, including the most recent Scam Me if You Can: Simple Strategies to Outsmart Today’s Rip-off Artists.
He’ll be sharing some of the latest techniques developed by high-tech criminals to deceive and steal and important actions that individuals and businesses should take to stop scammers.
ABOUT OUR WORLD
Established in 2008 under the auspices of the Kiawah Island Community Association (KICA), Our World is an educational outreach program for Kiawah property owners, which invites speakers with expert knowledge of local, national and global issues of significance. Committee members include KICA members who partner with Sandcastle staff to provide several programs each month on Thursdays from October through April.
