Verdi’s Rigoletto: How to Analyze Key Musical Element by Ear

Kim Sauberlich, PhD – Assistant Professor of Music, Affiliate Faculty: Latin America & Caribbean Studies – College of Charleston

Dr. Sauberlich will talk about Rigoletto, one of the most influential and widely performed works in the operatic repertoire. She will also examine the opera’s complex history and its significance in the present day.

Using operas from the Met’s Opera catalog, she will help us to focus on listening to and analyzing key musical elements by ear and watching various Met productions.
