Intermittent Closures on Kiawah Island Parkway

On Saturday, Feb. 18, the Kiawah Island Golf Resort will be moving six office trailers from Freshfields Village to Night Heron Park through the outbound lane of the main gate. The move will begin at daybreak and continue until approximately 8 a.m. During this time, there will be intermittent closures in the outbound lane. Members leaving the island prior to 8 a.m. should include additional time in their schedules to account for this traffic interruption.
This date and time were selected to minimize disruption to the island. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office will be on-hand to assist in directing traffic.
This is the first step in the resort’s reconstruction of the Night Heron Park Nature Center. Resort staff will relocate to the temporary trailers, in order to keep resort recreation functions operating during the construction of the new nature center facility. Construction is expected to be completed in mid-2025.
