APPRECIATING AND CARING FOR  OUR TREES IN THE URBAN FOREST  with Frances Waite 

Our live oaks and other trees provide many benefits. Come explore the importance of caring for our urban forests with Frances Waite, Urban and Community Forestry Coordinator with the South Carolina Forestry Commission. Examine common issues that arise with keeping trees healthy and improving their longevity. Learn practical tips on caring for your trees and selecting the right trees for the right site.

As the Urban and Community Forestry Coordinator with the South Carolina Forestry Commission Frances Waite works with municipalities and counties helping to access and enjoy their urban forest. She provides technical assistance with tree selection, proper planting, and selection of nursery stock. She has written grants to help planners with green infrastructure mapping, modeling, and planning. Her most recent project involves providing information on how to incorporate green infrastructure and forestry into comprehensive plans.
