Conservation Matters: Sharks and Rays

Dive into the newest Conservation Matters program, Sharks and Rays: Not a mean bone in their body, presented by Dr. David Plourd. This program will be premiering on the Kiawah Conservancy’s YouTube Channel and website at 3 pm Thursday, March 4! You’ll not only learn about whale sharks and manta rays, but you might just swim away with a new perspective and appreciation for these seemingly frightening creatures!

Dr. Dave is an author, researcher, and teacher. You may have heard his Conservation Matters presentation in 2019 on Sea Turtles. While Dr. Dave is a highly regarded Doctor and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, it is his degree in marine sciences that underpins his passion for and his remarkable encounters with sea life and wildlife.
