Those who find driving to Kiawah de-stressing have not done so in rush
hour or in rain. At those times it is quite the opposite. The greenway
would presserve the beautiful drive on Bohicket Road and actually
return it to one of enjoyment and safety. The numbers of approvals of
new housing cannot be ignored. Clearly the drive on Bohicket is only
going to get more stressful and more dangerous.

If you slow down and smell the roses, the traffic is not a problem. We
rush too much in our lives.

I would love to be able to slow down and smell the roses , however when
I have tried that, the car behind me typically is on my bumper and
almost rear ends me if anyone ahead turns, or worse they pass me putting us
all at an even greater risk. I feel unsafe every time I travel it now.
It worries me that my aging parents as well as my young adult children go
in and out of Charleston with regularity. Honestly I no longer think
that is an option, given the fact that the numbers of people using this
road continues to increase.

I was going the speed limit the other day on Bohicket, which I sometimes
think is too high, especially if you were to hit a deer, and some nut
bumper hugged me then flew around me going at least 70. Of course, a few
minutes later I was right behind him again because of slower traffic in
front of him. Speeding never gets you in to Charleston any faster, but it
does endanger lives. Maybe we need cameras along the road.

I think the idea of cameras along Bohicket is an excellent one. Cameras have been used in Europe with great success. The license is photographed and the owner is sent a bill - no patrolman has to stop a speeder. Speed is currently the biggest safety problem - and what would be wrong with reducing the speed limit on dangerous roads? I would actually enjoy a 40 MPH drive on Bohicket or River Roads. But when I try to do that - I have people behind me trying to be Mario Andretti, but not doing a good job of it!! Bob Brown (217 Glen Abbey)

We do not need any more of Big Brother looking over us. Forget the camera idea. Take River Road which is less traveled.
