In honor of breast cancer awareness month, world-class yoga instructor Vanessa McMann will offer a 75-minute all-levels yoga flow class on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. for donations to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. This class will be outside, on the beach in front of The Sandcastle and reservations are required. Wear pink and please bring your own mat and water bottle.
Vanessa will guide you through a practice to open the heart and the mind, setting yourself at ease for a good nights rest and a fresh start to the new week.
Vanessa, who now lives in Germany with her husband and young child, has been coming to Kiawah with her family for almost 30 years. It is on Kiawah where Vanessa fell in love with all things fitness; riding her bike all over the island, running on the beach and swimming daily. For the last 10 years, Vanessa has been sharing that love of fitness with others (friends, family, strangers) through bootcamps, personal training sessions or just meeting up to train for marathons. But it is with yoga that Vanessa has truly found her passion and joy of teaching.
Vanessa has been teaching yoga for the last 4 years in Germany and is a Yoga Ambassador for lululemon. Due to Covid Vanessa has spent most of this last year teaching online courses and outdoor classes, which is an interesting new take on the idea of Union (yoga) She looks forward to when she can get back to the studios again and connect with her students through breath and movement.
