TRANSFORMING ANIMAL RESCUE IN THE SOUTH

How Charleston Animal Society transformed animal rescue in the Charleston region and across South Carolina

In 2013, one of the nation’s oldest animal protection organizations, Charleston Animal Society, launched one of the boldest animal initiatives ever undertaken – build a No Kill Community in the Deep South!  This 3-year initiative, called No Kill Charleston, was achieved in its first year.  Joe Elmore, Charleston Animal Society’s CEO, will discuss how Charleston Animal Society achieved this and built an international model for lifesaving success.

Each year, the Animal Society cares for upward of 20,000 animals and teaches thousands of schoolchildren how to be compassionate to animals and humans.  It is has been South Carolina’s top-rated nonprofit (over 22,000) for the past 6 years in a row.

Please RSVP to KICA Recreation (843-768-3875 or sandcastle@kica.us) by the day before the presentation.
